The Big Country Manufacturing Alliance (BCMA) wrapped up our Skill-Up in Manufacturing Short Course this past November with 7 participants successfully completing the course. The Skill-Up in Manufacturing Short Course was a 12-day training course educating participants on foundational manufacturing skills including:

  • shop math
  • hand & power tools
  • computer basics
  • basic pneumatics
  • basic hydraulics
  • electrical basics
  • resume building
  • interview tips & tricks

With these and several other valuable skills learned in the Short Course, our participants are now well-equipped, well-rounded candidates for available manufacturing positions throughout the Big Country.

We would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to our partners who made this short-course possible: Adult Education of West Central Texas, Texas State Technical College, and Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas.

We wish the best of luck to all our participants in their future manufacturing endeavors.

Advance Together accelerates the progress of community partnerships in Texas that are addressing education and workforce challenges. Their work is instrumental in reducing barriers to economic opportunity. We seek to expand its impact.
